This is a vintage Igloo brand cooler called the “Kool Rest”. It was made to sit on the center hump between the front seats of a car or in the center seat if you had a bench seat. It is mostly made of molded plastic. The clock style code on the underside has 1 and 80 which I believe means it was made in January 1980, but I could be wrong. About 23″ long, 11″ tall, and 9 wide. Interior is about 16″ long, 7″ wide, and 6 deep Can hold 12 cans according to old ads I have seen, but I don’t have any to verify. Overall I think it is good for the age, but HAS ISSUES. The lid opens fine, but there is no seal around the top like you might find in newer coolers. DIRTY – I did not try to clean it for fear of damaging the vintage plastic. It does not feel brittle. The label on the front has some damage. SCRATCHED/GOUGED – mostly on all the feet, but there are some around the edges elsewhere. I believe someone can do some sanding to make it look better, but I didn’t want to try. I have one closeup of a leg, but all four legs have this kind of damaged SEPARATING – the insulation seems to be pushing the cooler apart, visible around the seam. Some examples in the last pics. I don’t think this can be repaired except by replacing the inner foam.
