This is a vintage Gott brand cooler called the “Cooler Console”. It was made to sit in the center seat if you had a bench seat like in a truck. It is made of heavy plastic. I believe it is from the mid 1980s. Overall About 17″ long, 10.5″ tall, and 8.5″ wide Detachable COoler is about 12″ long, 8″tall, 8″ wide Interior is about 8.5″ long, 6″ wide, and 6 deep The cooler is their model 1806, made to hold a six pack of soda. Overall I think it is very good for the age, but is DIRTY. For the most part I think it would clean right up and I don’t think it was actually ever used with how clean the inside is. I did not try to clean it for fear of using the wrong cleaner and damaging the vintage plastic. It does not feel brittle. The sticker on the side is nice. This is a vintage Igloo brand cooler called the “Kool Rest”. It was made to sit on the center hump between the front seats of a car or in the center seat if you had a bench seat. It is mostly made of molded plastic. The clock style code on the underside has 1 and 80 which I believe means it was made in January 1980, but I could be wrong. About 23″ long, 11″ tall, and 9 wide. Interior is about 16″ long, 7″ wide, and 6 deep Can hold 12 cans according to old ads I have seen, but I don’t have any to verify. Overall I think it is good for the age, but HAS ISSUES. The lid opens fine, but there is no seal around the top like you might find in newer coolers. DIRTY – I did not try to clean it for fear of damaging the vintage plastic. It does not feel brittle. The label on the front has some damage. SCRATCHED/GOUGED – mostly on all the feet, but there are some around the edges elsewhere. I believe someone can do some sanding to make it look better, but I didn’t want to try. I have one closeup of a leg, but all four legs have this kind of damaged SEPARATING – the insulation seems to be pushing the cooler apart, visible around the seam. Some examples in the last pics. I don’t think this can be repaired except by replacing the inner foam. Up for sale is a Vintage Kool Rest by Igloo Center Console Arm Rest Cooler. This is the large sized version measuring in at approximately 23″ x 11″ x 10. As far as condition goes, this unit is in vintage pre-owned condition showing wear consistent with age, use, and storage which can be seen in the pictures provided. Vintage Igloo Kool Rest Console Cooler w/ Drink Holders. This is the highly sought after Tan/Neutral color with a darker shade lid. No cracks in the plastic. No marks or writing on the cooler. The inside and the outside look like new. The original Kool Rest Igloo decal is intact with no peeling. This is the highly collectible OLDER version of the Igloo Console Cooler. This is how you tell the older original versions from the newer versions. Everybody wants to own the Igloo Kool Rest® original! You can tell the originals from the later versions. The original, like mine, have separated cupholders. The newer versions have joined cup holders. They are joined in the middle. The born on date is August of 1981 as noted in one of the pictures. It is used but all works as intended. The only minor flaw… It is missing what I would call a plastic hinge cap as noted in a picture. As you can see in other pictures the hinge works fine, it holds the lid open as it should.
